Fiction Books Are Useless?

From time to time, when I'm scrolling on TikTok or in any other social media, I see teenagers and young adults sharing books they've already read... When I take a look at comments, I see many people criticizing the books that these teenagers and young adults were reading.

Comments like: "right, now when u gonna read true books?", "if you wanna read fiction, you should read the 'classics'" and things like that.

Sometimes I find videos where a person are criticizing directly teenagers and others who are reading books that are considered children books'... For example, Diary of a Wimpy Kid; Harry Potter, Percy Jackson...

In other words, there is a preconception about fiction books, because by the look of many people, fiction books are just entertainment... Others consider as a way of procrastination and worthless...

Well, if you also have this opinion about fiction books, or you just don't care about it, I recommend you reed this article till the end... I believe that I can change the way you will see fiction books from now on.

What is the best way to tell an idea, knowledge or event ?

Many people forger, but the best way to learn something and be engaged with the subject is through stories... Just take a look in the thing that we use to remember mathematics formulas, historical facts, random life things... In some way, a kind of "story" is told to us, and we associate it with some happening.

Also, there are cases where before a teaching or point be explained to people, an introduction with day-to-day story or even a example, is giving to the reader... For example, take the begging of this article where I told you a story to introduce the topic of this article.

Doing it, creates a feeling of identification, completeness and I induce you to think, not only rational, but also emotional.

In other words, would be easily just spit information at your face... However, work a little of storytelling makes you not just learn with logical, but also, with your emotions... Result of this? A better place to absorb contents is created, in addition to be marking in your memory.

Well, if this can be happening in a simple article with a superficial story, try to image what a book can do.

What fiction books can teach?

Besides be a great way to communicate ideas, I believe that fictional books can cover and develop some powerful things in our lives.

As you already know, my goal with these articles is to change the way how you see the world, taking new visions, theories and experiences... Always with a liberty viewpoint.

Read a fiction book, is literally, take the way how other person see the world (who's wrote the book) or the characters; see the world... And, from beginning to end, you put yourself in them place, trying to see the same thing they can see.

Sure, make this can lead you to "fall in love" or even consider a character as a friend, when you remember him, a kind of feeling can come from yourself... Don't worry, this is not a indicative of schizophrenia, haha.

Any way, I noticed that as I read more and more fiction books, the way how I deal, think and look at some situations changed... At the same time, the possibilities that I see to certain things, were expanded with new ideas to deal with the world.

There is a quote saying: "A reader can live a thousand lives"... Well, if you know the worth of experience, you will be able to measure how powerful it is "live a thousand lives"to face our demons' day by day.

The best way to create empathy?

Well, in addition to fictional books being able to convey ideas more effectively; show you new ways of looking at life… I believe that when you develop an appetite for reading more and more books, they make you a more empathetic person.

Think with me, you are leading constantly with a immensity of new characters, scenarios, worlds... Consequently, you start to put yourself at their characters and adverse situations. In general, making it, is a way to develop your emotional empathy intelligence.

In my opinion and personal view, usually people who read a lot of fiction books, are more understandable and tend to be "open mind"... Maybe, these adjectives come from my books read.

Frankly, I believe that people who carry baggage of several books considered "children" read, seem to me to be enjoying much more skills and benefits that reading delivers, than people who limit themselves to reading only one or two books per year of the nonfiction genre, and they start to believe that this is the “real reading”...

I honestly love both, and I believe that each one have your positive points... However, many times, fiction books are much more funny and can give you a most peculiar view of the world.

Perhaps, what really matters is not being limited to one particular genre; author; book; number of words or any category; rather, become an explorer of new universes... After all, the more you test, more possibilities for learning, fun and anything else will be with you.

In short words, just read the maximum as you can.

What's up, what do you thimk about fiction books?

If you enjoyed, share this article with friends ^^.
